This course offers the mariner a comprehensive 56 - 64 hour course. Also known as an OUPV or 6 Pack, the Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels license grants a captain with credentials to carry up to six passengers for hire on a boat rated up to 100 gross registered tons. Occupations this license commonly covers include fishing or hunting charters, guide services, sightseeing tours, dive boats, water taxis, etc. While not inspected by the USCG, UPVs are expected to be in compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations and are required to be operated by a Coast Guard licensed operator.
